Nichole E. Humes

Nichole E. Humes is an Associate at Burns White.  Experienced in a diverse range of legal matters, Ms. Humes primarily concentrates her practice in litigation.  Ms. Humes has represented clients including individuals and business in the areas of professional malpractice, product liability, mass tort and insurance defense litigation throughout Pennsylvania.  Ms. Humes has also handled cases involving insurance coverage disputes, bad faith claims, contractual disputes and personal injury.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Humes practiced law for a defense firm in Chicago, Illinois, where she represented municipal, construction and transportation clients in all aspects of litigation.  She was also active in the Chicago Bar Association, where she was a member of the Women in the Law Committee, and served on the Women’s Alliance Mentoring Circle subcommittee.

An active participant in firm activities, Ms. Humes is a member of the Women’s Initiative, which focuses on issues critical to women practitioners.  In addition, Ms. Humes donates her time through the firm’s pro bono program.  Ms. Humes was recognized for her pro bono work by The Legal Intelligencer and honored with the 2012 “Unsung Hero” award.

Ms. Humes is a 2006 graduate of Duquesne University School of Law.  While in law school, Ms. Humes clerked for the Honorable Judge Jeffrey A. Manning of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.  She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Crime, Law, and Justice from The Pennsylvania State University where she was a two-time recipient of the Clayton A. Schug Award for Excellence in Forensics.
