Jason J. Cervone

Jason J. Cervone joined Burns White as an Associate in January 2004, and focuses his practice in the areas of banking, business practices, general liability litigation and railroad defense litigation. 

Primarily, Mr. Cervone advises clients in all facets of commercial transaction matters, including both purchasers, sellers and commercial financial institutions such as banks, business capital investors and private funds, on a variety of corporate transactional matters. Mr. Cervone handles asset-based and cash flow lending, leveraged acquisitions and recapitalizations, subordinated debt and mezzanine financings, real estate financings, bulk financial asset acquisitions and other forms of debt and equity financing.  Mr. Cervone also has significant experience representing traditional lenders in connection with investments and other areas such as senior and subordinated/mezzanine debt investments, debt workouts and restructurings, preferred stock, control and minority equity purchases, warrant and other “equity kicker” investments, syndicated bank facilities, multi-lender/purchaser transactions, and loans involving complex and multi-jurisdictional collateral.

In addition, Mr. Cervone has defended multiple railroads in complex litigation matters throughout the northeast, where his primary focus is on occupational related claims. 

Prior to joining Burns White, Mr. Cervone was an Associate with an international law firm practicing in Dallas, Texas. There he specialized in corporate finance and general corporate law, with an emphasis on asset management, lender and financial institution representation.

Mr. Cervone obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in both Criminal Justice and Political Science from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania in 1996. Subsequently, he obtained his Juris Doctor from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2000, where he became a member of the Order of the Coif.

Admitted to the Texas, Pennsylvania and West Virginia Bars, Mr. Cervone is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Allegheny County Bar Association and the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel.
