Mr. Forster attended Carnegie Institute of Technology and Villanova University. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania.
After graduation, he became an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania where he engaged in an active federal trial practice. The civil cases were varied: medical malpractice actions and civil rights claims, regulatory issues, immigration matters, and all manner of tort and administrative law problems. Mr. Forster was often responsible for injunction matters as well.
When Mr. Forster entered private practice, he became immersed in mass tort and complex products liability cases. His practice emphasized construction cases, medical devices, and heating and air conditioning equipment, but also included medical malpractice, pharmaceutical products, automotive products and industrial machinery. Some of the emerging issues in which he has been involved include silicone medical devices, asbestos, indoor air pollution, and mold infestation.
In recent years, Mr. Forster also has worked in litigation involving aviation clients, intellectual property claims, business torts, and commercial disputes.
Mr. Forster joined Burns White in 2007 and is Of Counsel at the firm. He is a past member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, and the Pennsylvania Defense Institute. He has spoken on various subjects at IADC and PDI meetings.
